To tackle the recurring issues of muddy and impassable roads during the rainy season, the DPWH Palawan 2nd DEO has completed the paving of the Culandanum-Panalingaan Cross Country Road in Bataraza, Palawan.

In a report to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, Palawan 2nd District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella highlighted the details of the project. The road construction features a Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) with a width of 6.70 meters and a thickness of 280 millimeters, covering a total length of 5.072 lane kilometers. The project also includes concrete shoulders, reinforced concrete box and pipe culverts, lined canals, and grouted riprap for erosion control.

This initiative aims to improve road conditions, ensuring better accessibility and connectivity, which in turn promotes economic growth and enhances the quality of life for local communities. By transforming these previously unpaved segments into durable paved roads, the project supports the local government’s efforts to foster regional development and sustainability.
