Farmers and the local community in Narra, Palawan, now have better transportation access with the completion of the Brgy. Dumangueña Farm-to-Market Road by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Palawan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO). This newly concreted road improves connectivity and ease of transport for local farmers and residents.

In a report to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella detailed that the road is 6.1 meters wide and 230 mm thick. The project includes the main road concreting, drainage construction, and other structures to ensure the road’s durability and manage water flow effectively. Drainage facilities have been added to prevent water buildup, which will help protect the road and increase its lifespan.

The improved road reduces travel time from 3.7 minutes to just 1.24 minutes, making transportation more efficient and cutting costs for farmers. This faster route not only minimizes produce spoilage but also enhances access to nearby markets, offering local farmers better income opportunities and driving economic growth within the community.
