Before the Tapuyan Road was built, instructors and students who commuted to Tapuyan National High School had to deal with a tough, unpaved path. In Gasan, Marinduque, the DPWH Marinduque DEO recently finished building Tapuyan Road, which offers locals and other users of the road a reliable and simple route.
According to a report written by Marinduque District Engineer Richard Emmanuel P. Ragragio and sent to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, the project entails installing two 0.90-meter diameter RCPCs with stone masonry in addition to fully concreting 381 linear meters of road with a 6.1-meter width and 0.23-meter thickness PCCP.
The newly constructed route guarantees continuous traffic, cutting travel times from over 30 minutes to just 20 minutes, by substantially lowering the likelihood of auto accidents. With this upgrade, the community’s access to daily activities and education is much improved. Along with enhancing local economic activity and raising everyone’s standard of living in Barangay Tapuyan, it also expedites emergency response times and makes the area safer for all users of the roads.
